Who We Are: The Department of Jewish Peoplehood
The Department of Jewish Peoplehood (which became part of the Oranim International School in 2014) has over 25 years of experience providing innovative Jewish programming. We are 21st century pioneers in Jewish Peoplehood initiatives, educational tourism, twinning programs between Israeli and North American schools, web-based encounters, and other educational programming.
Our Staff
For the staff of the Department of Jewish Peoplehood, the work of building Peoplehood is not just a profession; it’s who we are. Our staff brings together a range of religious and ethnic backgrounds, languages, and experiences from five different continents, providing us with a living model for the Jewish people. As we create programs which strengthen Jewish identity and increase a sense of belonging to the Jewish people, we are inspired by each other, by the vibrancy and diversity of our people, and by the organizations and individuals that we meet across the globe.
Our Vision
We envision a Jewish world in which Israelis and Jews around the world can share their experiences, their views, and their hopes. We believe that Jewish Peoplehood is a multi-directional avenue of engagement and interaction. We work to build a world in which our dialogue connects us and does not divide us.
